Hansbrough Signs with Mad Ants

Fort Wayne, Ind. (March 2nd, 2017) – After passing his physical examination, Tyler Hansbrough has officially signed with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Hansbrough was acquired by the Mad Ants yesterday via waivers.

Hansbrough was selected 13th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the 2009 NBA Draft. He played four seasons with the Pacers; averaging 19.6 minutes, 4.8 rebounds, and 9 points.

In his rookie season, Hansbrough became the first player in Pacers’ history to record a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) without making a field goal, as he attempted and made 10 free throws.

Most noted for his career with the North Carolina Tar Heels, winning the NCAA Championship with UNC in 2009.

Hansbrough was the first player in ACC history to not only be named First Team All-ACC and First Team All-American all four seasons. He was also named ACC Rookie of the Year in 2006 and ACC Player of the year in 2008.

Following his time with the Pacers, Hansbrough joined the Toronto Raptors in 2013 through the 2015 season.

Most recently Hansbrough played with the Charlotte Hornets for the 2015-16 season.

Through his seven years in the NBA, Hansbrough has averaged 17 minutes per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 6.7 points.
