Mad Ants and McDonald’s select High School Players of the Month

Fort Wayne, Ind. (February 1st, 2016)-  The Fort Wayne Mad Ants have partnered with McDonald’s to recognize a boys and girls high school player of the month in northeast Indiana for the 2016-17 season. In January, McDonald’s and the Mad Ants selected Craig Young of Wayne High School and Leigha Brown of DeKalb High School.

Craig Young continued his breakout season for Wayne High in the month of January. The sophomore averaged 24 points per game this month, including a 42 point performance against South Bend Washington on the 14th. Young was also a force on the boards as he averaged 10 rebounds a game, giving him a double-double in points and rebounds for the month of January.

Leigha Brown’s performance for DeKalb High in January earned her player of the month honors, as she averaged a double-double consisting of 24 points and 10.5 rebounds through six games. Her best game came against Wayne High where she recorded 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists, finishing just two assists short of a triple-double.

Both players will be recognized at an upcoming Mad Ants home game.
